The Outlandish Academy was an open distributed education project for offline and online group work. Our aim is to make online learning more social, personalised, and flexible - outlandish 
The methodology was based on the earlier Viral Academy, but focussed on interdisciplinary research and writing based on federated wiki.
We ran pilots with diverse hybrid groups - both online an in person, in the UK, in Europe, Africa, and with collborarators working across timezones from Australia, to America.
The latest iteration of the methodology we aim to apply to the Hitchhiker Academy, with a focus on mobile and a renewed focus on peer-to-pper structures for mutual learning.
